The wine goes well with fish, cooked crustaceans and scallops.
The fresh aroma of the wine reveals notes of fresh fruit, nuances of white flowers and vegetable touches.
The taste of the wine is refreshing, harmonious, with a bright palette of fruit shades, in which the halftones of peach, yellow plum and citrus nuances stand out especially clearly. The long aftertaste is decorated with notes of vanilla, floral touches and elegant acidity.
History of wine
The wine is made from Pinot Blanc grapes grown in the Marsanne appellation on a vineyard area of 0.35 hectares, whose stony soil consists of limestone, clay and white subsoil. The age of the vines ranges from 14 to 45 years. Vinification takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 20-22 °C. For wine aging, which lasts 3 months, use oak barrels.
In 1970s, Domaine Fougeray was acquired by other owners, but the Olivier family has preserved all its traditions and vineyards in the best appellations of Burgundy: areas in Bonnes Mares Grand Cru, in Saint-Jacques, Vosne-Romanée, Gevrey-Chambertin, etc. One of the founders of the domain many years ago was a trailblazer with rose Marsanne, and still rose and red Marsanne remain the flagship wines of the domain.
